This piece was composed in homage to drummer, Andre Burbridge. We go way back, and come way forward: the hallways @ Otis back in the day, Andre sittin’ in as the house drummer @ Suter’s on Sunday nights, chasing Blues jam sessions in North Hollywood… my brother was always sharp & doin’ his thing. Thirty years later, we reconnected in Cincinnati.

Materials include the following: silk ties looped over an oar lock and suspended just in front of a worn drum head from Andre’s kit, brass grommets set into a panel surfaced with marble dust and rabbit skin glue, recovered slate chalkboard, and recovered oak.

Measurements: 66 inches high by 25 inches wide by 4 ½ inches deep
